Attend and speak up at monthly Board of Trustees meetings

According to the communication guidelines, you will have 3 minutes to speak. Do not underestimate the power of well-conceived, well-delivered facts and opinions. If you arrive with printed comments, you can request that they become a permanent part of the minutes.

Note: Questions or dialogue with the Board members during meetings is not allowed. Please check the Village website for Rules of Decorum at Upper Brookville Public Meetings.

Attend monthly “Coffee and Donuts” morning meetings with the Mayor

Spread the Word

Talk to your neighbors who may not know a cell tower discussion is in play in Upper Brookville. Asking good questions and getting fact-based answers is a great way to build momentum and consensus on this important issue.

These are all powerful and effective ways to share important information and to find out what your neighbors think.

Make your opinions, concerns, and position known to your elected officials

Write a letter to the Mayor and Board of Trustees. Keep a copy in your file.
What you can do when an application is submitted to the Village:

Be ready to attend hearings where telecom company proposal(s) are being deliberated, and express your point of view.

Be aware of what can and cannot be discussed during a hearing.

We will give as much notice as possible regarding when the shot clock (period for deliberation) begins, and when the hearing is scheduled.

Check the Village website: www.villageofupperbrookville.org regularly for information regarding cell tower-related meetings and updates.
Resident feedback to our elected officials both now, and later during the shot clock process is powerful and will inform our Trustees and ZBA board members on how best to represent our interests during a cell tower application process. Don't underestimate how much your voice counts!
